I took the time to read back in the book before writing anything self. Interesting contraption, nothing short of magic. ((Not that he believes in magic, but why dispute it with nothing to back you up?))
That this is Luceti, and we are subject to the Malnosso. We're trapped behind a barrier; however, I'm quite fuzzy on for what reason. I've heard of strange occurrences, but that this place is not all terrible. At the very least, there are unimaginable forces at work here.
